Croatian Teachers Gain AI Insights in Split

English teachers from across Croatia gathered at a national conference on December 20th in Split, where they were introduced to the Algowatch project and its resources, marking a significant step in AI literacy education.

Researcher Igor Kanižaj from DKMK presented the Algowatch activities, sparking considerable interest among the teachers, many of whom were receiving their first exposure to algorithms and AI education. Participants showed particular enthusiasm for the tools developed within the project.

The event highlighted the growing need for educators to understand and navigate the complexities of AI in the digital age. DKMK, in partnership with the Croatian Education and Teacher Training Agency (AZOO), is committed to enhancing media literacy among teachers. As part of this ongoing effort, DKMK will continue to disseminate the Algowatch project’s findings and resources at national conferences throughout 2025.

This conference underscores the agency’s role in monitoring and improving education in Croatia, with a focus on equipping teachers with the necessary skills to address contemporary educational challenges.
